Wire linear potentiometric transducers

The PFA3000, PFA4000, PFA5000, PFA6000, PFA8000, PFA10000, PFA12000 are wire potentiometric position transducers that turn a linear motion into a resistance variation. They are made of a precision rotating potentiometer operated by a winding or unwinding stainless steel wire. Special features of these transducers are their low cost and easy assembling.
Available analogue outputs in voltage and current.
Linked together to a display or an electronic positioner (for example V3P, V4P, VE6P, P3X) it supplies a simple and effective system to measure linear motions on cranes, rolling shutters, cylindrical-, hydraulic-, pneumatic stroke, automatic-, wood-, marble-, glassworking machinery, etc.
These transducers are carried out in case in oxidized aluminium.

The P_X positioning units serie are programmable microprocessor single-axis positioner with relay or analogue outputs that processes signals supplied by incremental transducers such as encoders, optical lines, and magnetic band.
The opportunity to create customized working programmes makes them extremely versatile (cutting machines, bending machines, etc.). In order to optimise the accuracy of positioning there are the possibility to enter some parameters that are able to counterbalance system inertia, clearances, and wear of mechanical couplings. Positioning is managed through the Start/Stop, Onward/Backward, Slow/Quick, End of Positioning relay outputs. A voltage analogue output is also available that may be set up as -10 +10V or 0+10V as well as the 4÷20mA current output for the control of inverters or actuators. All of the positioner inputs Start, Emergency, Preset, Piece-counter, and counting inputs are optoinsulated.
➤ Other features: automatic/semiautomatic, manual, absolute/line working mode, memorization of 99 positioning dimensions with the possibility of programming the number of pieces to be worked in sequence and the number of cycle repetitions; test function to check inputs and outputs; RS232 or RS485 MODBUS RTU serial connection.
• P1X: the 16-key keypad and 8 operation indicators make operating and setup of the positioners user-friendly.
• P2X: programming is done very easily by four keys on the front panel; an auxiliary display allows a two character-driven programming in addition to displaying parameters during processing.
• P3X: processes signals provided by potentiometric position transducers linear or rotary. The 16-key keyboard with 6 operation indicators make it simple and easy to use and the setup of the positioner.

The instruments of the V_P series are multifunction microprocessor display units with input from potentiometric transducer that are particularly indicated for the measurement of linear and angular dimensions.
The carrying out with microprocessor and the use of modern analogue-to-digital conversion techniques enable to obtain excellent performances in terms of calibration easiness, resolution, stability, conversion speed, and cost by enabling the implementation of some functions of interest for the industrial applications: absolute/relative dimension, tool diameter compensation, etc.. The instrument set-up and calibration operations are easily carried out with the four keys positioned on the front panel. Through self-learning calibration it is possible to adapt the input variable amplitude to the wished reading scale.
• V3P: the measured dimension may be compared with 3 intervention thresholds that may be set for the enabling of as many relays, the status of which is displayed through a led.
Versions: V3P- displayed, V3P-3 displayed with 3 intervention ON/OFF.
• V4P: the measured value can be compared with 2 or 3 alarms settable for enabling many relays whose status is displayed by LEDs. Two analog outputs, a voltage 0-10V or -10 to +10 V, the other 4 ÷ 20mA 12-bit resolution, and its possible to configure the instrument and check its status via serial interface RS485 with MODBUS RTU protocol.
